Originally from America, Anne trained at the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts, Massachusetts. In her first book Eivissa: The Ibiza Cookbook, which was published on 2nd June 2016 to critical acclaim, she writes about the relationship between food, place and culture. In the book, she takes the reader on a journey from when she first moved to Ibiza and took over the farmhouse Can Riero. Since then, the farm has gone from near fallow, to producing dozens of varieties of fruits and vegetables, including over 40 types of heirloom tomatoes.
Anne’s tenure has coincided with a food revolution, and has led her on a dedicated odyssey to study food culture, through meeting Ibiza’s producers who are burgeoning the sustainable food movement.
After many years of research and immersion in Ibicenco life, Anne opened her own restaurant in Ibiza, the critically acclaimed El Portalon in Dalt Vila, named as one of the Top Ten Most Beautiful Restaurants in the World by Conde Nast.
Anne continues to cultivate her organic farm to produce most of the fruits and vegetables it is possible to grow on Ibiza, and supplies the island’s top restaurants and chefs, as well as several in mainland Spain.
