
ORTENSIA VISCONTI studied comparative literature at the Sorbonne and photojournalism in London. She was a war correspondent in Palestine, Algeria, Iraq, Pakistan and Afghanistan, where she spent several years working for The Washington Post, La Repubblica and Il Messaggero. Her stories have appeared in Nuovi Argomenti, The Erotic Review and in the anthology Desire: 100 of Literature’s Sexiest Stories. In Italy she published the novel Stregonesco (2004) and in France the collection of short stories L’idée fixe (2013). Her latest novel, “Malalai”, published by Rizzoli, just came out in Italy.
